1. Pump head
The main transmission tool is the pump head. The liquid or gas is transmitted by squeezing the pump tube through the roller. By replacing the pump head and the hose, different flow transmission can be achieved.
Because the peristaltic pump is conveyed by alternately squeezing the hose through the roller, every time a part of the liquid is squeezed through the roller, pulsation will occur. The solution is also very simple. The pulsation can be significantly reduced by increasing the number of rollers or choosing a dual-channel pump head.
The channel mentioned in the previous article means that some pump heads can be installed with multiple hoses, so as to achieve simultaneous filling, such as the distribution of multiple liquids in the laboratory.
This phenomenon occurs mostly in gear pumps, mainly because when the fluid flows at high speed, the phenomenon of cavernous corrosion damage occurs on the metal surface that the fluid contacts. It often occurs in the high-speed decompression zone such as a pump, where cavities are formed, and the cavities are crushed in the high-pressure zone and generate impact pressure, which destroys the protective film on the metal surface and accelerates the corrosion rate. Cavitation is characterized by the formation of many tiny pits on the metal surface, which then gradually expand into cavities.
